Anvil Empires Devblog 31 Details New Frontline Contracts, Troop Wagons, and Camp Defenses
Siege Camp has posted Devblog 31 for Anvil Empires, outlining several systems currently in development for the medieval war MMO’s pre-alpha. The main focus this time is on getting players and supplies to the front, then giving camps and fortresses more tools to survive once the fighting starts.
The studio notes that these features are still in development and could change before they’re fully added. For now, the update gives a clearer look at how Anvil Empires is expanding its war logistics beyond basic resource hauling.
- Military Indentures are new PvP-focused bounty contracts for recruiting and transporting Auxiliary troops to frontline Camps and Fortresses.
- Supply Indentures cover deliveries of kits and equipment, with a new Crate system meant to make sure delivered items are only counted once for contract completion.
- Construction materials like Stone Bricks, Wood Planks, and Mortar can also be produced in crates, giving players another way to help build up frontline positions while earning bounty rewards.
- The new Troop Wagon can carry up to eight players from Towns to Camps or Fortresses. It’s based on the Resource Cart, but trades storage space for passenger transport.
- Camp fortifications are getting new options, including a more compact Guard Tower with a ladder, wild-built barricades, and wall stockpiles for anti-siege tools like Defensive Stones and Burning Oil pots.
- Vehicles now support Personal Locks, letting solo players secure them without joining a House. Vehicles pulled from Storage or a Marketplace will automatically apply a Personal or House lock.
Avatar recovery is also being adjusted. If an Avatar is defeated and their incapacitated body expires, they can become captured and later reclaimed for a ransom after a longer wait. If their stationed location is overrun, they become routed instead, letting the player reclaim them for free after a shorter delay.
That change is meant to make it less risky to station Avatars outside towns, especially at Camps and Fortresses. It also hints at Siege Camp’s longer-term plans to make Avatar progression a bigger investment, though the devblog doesn’t lay out specifics yet.
