ANANTA Gets January 2027 Global Release Date in New Trailer
NetEase has set a global release date for ANANTA, the urban open-world RPG formerly known as Project Mugen. The game is now slated to launch on January 15, 2027, with a new launch date trailer showing off more of its city-hopping action.
ANANTA is planned for Steam, iOS, Android, and PlayStation 5. Development is being handled by Naked Rain, a studio affiliated with NetEase Games, with NetEase publishing.
The game was first announced at Gamescom 2023 under the Project Mugen name. Its story takes players between Nova City and Chongxiao’s Lingyun City, with players assembling a squad, exploring urban districts, fighting enemies, and digging into the mysteries behind each location.
The source material also points to Nova City as the first city, built with a Japanese urban style. The game is launching with distinct cities: Nova and Chongxiao’s Lingyun, with the latter being distinctly Chinese themed.
More cities are expected later, with European and American inspirations. Outside of combat, players can move around the city, interact with objects, pick up cats, and take part in mini-games.
