HoYoverse’s Petit Planet Is Coming to PC and Mobile This Winter
HoYoverse has put a winter launch window on Petit Planet, its upcoming cosmic life sim. The game is planned for PC through a direct client download and the Epic Games Store, plus iOS and Android.
Closed beta sign-ups are open now through the official website. HoYoverse says selected players will be picked from those who complete the tester questionnaire for the “Coziness Test.”
Petit Planet is HoYoverse’s first swing at the life sim genre, moving away from the action RPG and gacha-heavy space the studio is best known for. Players build up their own planet, meet fuzzy “Neighbors,” and connect with other planets to gradually form a small galaxy.
The day-to-day loop sounds familiar if you’ve spent time with cozy sims: planting, fishing, beachcombing, mining, cooking, crafting, decorating interiors, placing outdoor furniture, and dressing up your character. There’s also some planet-shaping through Luca, the game’s vitality system, which can change things like landscapes, skies, grasslands, and beaches.
HoYoverse is also leaning into social play. Players can invite Neighbors to settle on their planet, build friendships through gifts and conversations, and head out on Starsea Voyages to explore islets, find creatures, unlock recipes, and meet more characters. A Galactic Bazaar will serve as a social hub with coffee chats, festival events, and multiplayer interactions.
Additional platforms are “currently in development,” but HoYoverse hasn’t named them yet. For now, PC and mobile are the confirmed targets for this winter.
