Albion Online’s Radiant Wilds update is live with biome reworks, new PvP modes, and performance changes

Albion Online’s Radiant Wilds update is now live, and the biggest change is easy to spot right away. Every biome in the sandbox MMO has been reworked with new lighting, textures, and environmental effects, alongside a broader round of technical updates aimed at improving stability and performance.

According to the official post, the patch also adds a few gameplay features, including the new Armory system for build suggestions, a ranked 1v1 Arena mode, and a new 5v5 Crystal Arena map for group PvP.

The visual overhaul touches all of Albion’s regions, with biome-specific effects meant to make each area feel more distinct. That includes things like moving shadows, wind effects, and improved water reflections. On the technical side, developer Sandbox Interactive says the update changes how the game handles visual effects and should help large-scale fights run more smoothly, without raising the game’s system requirements.

The new Armory is designed to recommend builds based on a player’s progression and play data, then let them swap between options more easily. The 1v1 Arena gives solo PvP players a structured ranked mode, while teams getting into Crystal Arena have a new 5v5 map to play on.

There are also some smaller usability changes in the patch, including a take-all loot option, a cleaned-up Destiny Board, and improved controller support. That last one is especially timely, since Albion Online is set to launch on Xbox next week.

To mark the update, the game is also running two weeks of double Twitch Drops, including both regular and Noble drops.
