Albion Online’s Dragonfire Patch 1 Shortens Ancient Lands Portal Waits
Albion Online’s first Dragonfire patch is live as of September 8, 2026, with Sandbox Interactive making early adjustments to the new Ancient Lands and Dragon Sanctuary content. The main change is simple: players should spend less time standing around portals and more time actually getting into the Ancient Lands.
Ancient Lands portals are now easier to track, since they’re always visible on the World Map no matter how far away they are. Small portals also unlock faster, with lock time cut from 30 minutes to 15 minutes, and their entry window has been raised from 3 minutes to 8 minutes. Medium and large portals now stay open for entry for 5 minutes after unlocking, while large portals last 60 minutes instead of 45.
- Large Ancient Lands regular enemies now have 50% less health, though Drakes are unchanged.
- Island quests now require killing 50% of mobs on an island instead of earning a set amount of Fame.
- Marmots don’t count toward that quest requirement.
- Ancient Lands Blessings should no longer disappear after knockdown or death.
- A bug that caused some mobs to drop far more Silver than intended has been fixed.
The Dragon Sanctuary also gets a few early raid tweaks. Maeve’s boulders should no longer rarely dash during Primal Dragon Flame, and Rock Spike stacks now clear properly when the effect ends. Azaryon’s Inferno will deal much more damage near the end if players ignore the rock-hiding mechanic, which sounds aimed at stopping groups from brute-forcing it.
The patch also reduces Lingering Dragon Spirit by about two hours, which should make weekly raid scheduling a little cleaner. Outside the new Dragonfire content, Oathkeepers take a small hit, with Blessed Aurora’s auto-attack heal dropping from 66 to 50.
There are a handful of UI and controller fixes too, including better Destiny Board behavior, improved profanity filtering, fixed whisper display issues, and market input fixes on controller. Cleared Dragon Sanctuary enemies should also no longer respawn after three hours.
