Aion Opens Drakan Servers in Korea With First Playable Dragon Race
NC has rolled out Aion’s large Drakan update in Korea, opening the new Drakan 1 and Drakan 2 servers on October 21 at 7 p.m. KST. It’s the first major update since Aion Remake launched in May, and the headline addition is a big one: the Drakan, Aion’s first playable dragon race.
The Drakan can swap between a humanoid form built around magic attacks using dragon jade and a dragon form focused on stronger area attacks. With the new race added, Aion Remake now has 14 classes in total, according to NC’s announcement.
Players starting on the Drakan servers can take part in a Growth Express event, which hands out rewards as characters hit progression milestones. Rewards include a higher-grade cloak, a unique-grade accessory, and manastones. Anyone who missed pre-registration can still get the new cloak through a Latecomers event running until November 30.
The update also adds Lunadium, a new top-tier party dungeon available across all worlds. Groups still receive reward chests based on boss progress even if they don’t clear the fight, with possible rewards including higher-grade cloaks and heroic-grade gear.
There’s also a timed field called Primeval Ishalgen for the Drakan and Daeva worlds, offering high experience gains and new heroic-grade armor. NC has also made broader system changes, including removed entry limits for some dungeons, Katalam arena class balance adjustments, more travel points near major hunting areas, full enchantment stone refunds when dismantling legacy equipment, and unlimited flight.
