Aion 2 Korea Is Replacing Its Memberships With One Subscription

NCsoft is changing Aion 2’s Korean monetization setup by dropping its current three membership options and replacing them with a single optional subscription starting June 17. The new 28-day membership will cost ₩25,000, roughly $17, and includes perks such as access to a unique shop, trading exchanges, energy increases, and a separate battle pass.

For now, this only applies to the Korean version of the MMORPG. NCsoft has confirmed Aion 2 is planned for a global launch in September, but it hasn’t detailed how monetization will work outside Korea.

The subscription change arrives ahead of Aion 2’s first major “Chapter” update, which begins July 1. Chapter 1 is being positioned as larger than the game’s previous seasonal patches, with a new Monk class, two new areas, new dungeons, a level cap increase to 50, and a 100-player battle royale instance.

NCsoft is also planning more additions under the Aion 2 The Next banner. Sailing and fishing are expected to arrive as soon as possible, while personal housing is planned before Chapter 1 ends. Housing is also set to expand later with a personal island and a field for raising pets, though no firm dates were given for those follow-up features.
