Aloft update adds new glider patterns, trial islands, and smoother controls
Aloft, the buy to play co-op survival game, just dropped a new content patch focused on gliding. The “Gliders & Gales” update is live now, adding a bigger pile of customization options, new challenge islands built around glider trials, and some tweaks meant to make the glider feel better to handle.
According to the announcement, the headline additions are 22 new glider patterns, six new glider shapes, and two fabric upgrades. There are also nine new glider Oculi that come with different bonuses, plus new trails to chase.
If you want to hunt for cosmetics the old-fashioned way, the patch also scatters crashed gliders and torn fabrics across islands. Find them, repair them, and you’ll unlock more patterns for your collection.
The other big chunk of the update is six new “Glider Trial” Wonder Islands, which are basically challenge spaces with races and time trials. Win races to earn new glider shapes, and if you take first and then clear an extra time trial challenge, you can pick up new glider trails too. Astrolabe also says glider controls have been improved to feel smoother and to better support upgrades, which should matter most on these trial islands.
Outside of gliders, there’s also a big batch of building and decoration stuff, with the studio calling out more than 200 new pieces including things like toolboxes, shelving, and furniture.
