TITANS: Dawn of Tribes Overview
In Voodoo, the idea is to play at the edge of early civilization, where survival is the daily routine and a permanent home base becomes the long-term goal. You can strike out solo, but the game is clearly designed around cooperative play, letting groups form tribes and turn a small camp into a growing village with storage, defenses, and production chains that support more ambitious crafting.
Resource gathering and crafting are the core loop. You start with practical tools for collecting materials and gradually move into more specialized gear, including traps that help protect your settlement or control the space around it. The crafting system is presented as extremely deep, with thousands of recipe combinations and variations, and it encourages experimentation as you work toward stronger weapons and more reliable equipment.
Combat aims for more than simple button mashing, leaning on timing and positioning through mechanics like dodging and parrying. That matters most when you step up to the game’s signature encounters, the Izimu, gigantic boss creatures that act as progression gates. Defeating them rewards totems that feed into research and unlock access to better technology, tying combat achievements directly into your tribe’s development.
Exploration supports the survival framework with a broad open world split into distinct regions, including jungles and deserts, each with different wildlife and resources to pursue. Long-term goals also include tracking down ancient artifacts, the Hidden Treasures of Ubuntu, which provide unique powers and give explorers a reason to travel beyond the safety of their village.

Development History / Background:
First revealed under the name Voodoo, TITANS: Dawn of Tribes is an MMO survival project that began with the Italian studio Brain in the Box and later carried the IndieGala publishing label. Developed with Unity, the game’s early public push included a Kickstarter campaign launched in November 2016, alongside a playable pre-alpha that helped establish its village-building and primal survival direction. It arrived on Steam in Early Access in 2017, but the project’s trajectory changed after legal disputes led to the publisher assuming control and involving a different development team. During that transition it was rebranded as TITANS: Dawn of Tribes. Despite remaining available on Steam, support effectively ended and the game no longer receives active updates, leaving it with an inactive population.
