Erebus 2

Erebus II is a free-to-play action MMORPG that leans heavily into Diablo-like click-to-move combat, but places that loot hunting loop inside a shared online world. Instead of running isolated sessions, you roam persistent zones where other players are questing, farming mobs, forming parties, and clashing in open-world PvP. With four classic fantasy classes to choose from, the game focuses on steady progression, skill-driven builds, and plenty of grinding for gear.

Overview

Erebus 2 Overview

Erebus II is a 3D hack-and-slash MMORPG set in a traditional fantasy setting where your main job is simple, clear, and constant, push into dangerous areas, clear packs of enemies, and pick through the drops for upgrades. You pick from four classes and spend most of your time bouncing between town hubs and outdoor maps, taking on straightforward NPC tasks (often centered on killing specific monsters) while you farm for better equipment.

Character building is one of the game’s bigger hooks. You distribute stat points manually, then invest skill points into the abilities you actually want to use, which encourages experimenting with different loadouts rather than relying on a single fixed template. The result is a familiar action-RPG rhythm, move into a mob, trigger a rotation of skills, loot quickly, and repeat, with enough build control to make two characters of the same class feel meaningfully different.

On the multiplayer side, Erebus II supports open-world PvP and larger guild-focused conflicts. Its PvP modes emphasize capturing and holding objectives, and guild versus guild fights are framed as the main competitive endgame, with event-driven incentives to show up and participate. Alongside that, timed events and tougher “Elite” enemies provide periodic spikes in challenge and a reason to group up beyond casual leveling.

If you have played Diablo-inspired online titles such as MU Online or Path of Exile, the overall structure will feel familiar, fast combat, constant drops, and a long-term grind aimed at improving your build. Erebus 2 shut down on November 30, 2015.

Development History / Background:

Erebus II (also seen as Travia 2 during parts of its development) was developed and published by Zemi Interactive, a Korean studio known in MMO circles for 4Story. The project’s early testing dates back to a closed beta period in 2010, followed later by an open beta launch on September 17, 2014. Over the years it also appeared under different branding and distribution, including availability via Outspark’s MMORPG portal as Erebus: Travia Reborn, and earlier releases under the Travia name. Despite the relaunch, the game did not maintain the audience Zemi Interactive needed, and service ended on November 30, 2015.
