Xbox is bundling a Game Pass Starter tier with Discord Nitro
Xbox and Discord are teaming up on a new perk for subscribers. Discord Nitro members will now get a Game Pass Starter edition at no extra cost, giving them access to a smaller Game Pass library on PC and console plus 10 hours of cloud gaming.
According to the official post, the Starter catalog includes more than 50 games, with examples like Stardew Valley, Grounded, Hades, Fallout 4, and Doom Eternal. Discord says Nitro pricing isn’t changing, so this is being added on top of the existing subscription.
The deal goes both ways. Eligible Game Pass subscribers will start getting Discord Nitro benefits later this month. Those perks include 250 Discord Orbs per month, a 1.2x Orb bonus for completing Quests, and automatic discounts in the Discord Shop.
This is the latest change to Game Pass after Xbox adjusted pricing last month. Game Pass Ultimate dropped to $22.99 per month from $29.99, while PC Game Pass fell to $13.99 from $16.49. Even so, those cuts didn’t fully undo the price hikes Microsoft rolled out last October.
Discord is framing the bundle as part of its new Nitro Rewards program, announced in Discord’s post for Nitro’s 10-year anniversary. For Xbox, it’s another sign the company is still tinkering with how Game Pass is packaged and sold.
