WoW Classic’s Mists of Pandaria “Escalation” content is now on the PTR

Blizzard has pushed the next chunk of Mists of Pandaria Classic content, called Escalation, onto the Public Test Realm ahead of its full release. The studio says it’ll arrive as an unlock in patch 5.5.3, which is the current patch line for MoP Classic, and players can get an early look now.

According to the PTR development notes, Escalation bundles several pieces of Phase 4 content: the Escalation campaign, the Battlefield Barrens world event, the next chapter of the Legendary questline, new Brawler’s Guild bosses, plus new scenarios and heroic scenarios.

Timing-wise, Blizzard is still only committing to broad windows. Escalation is slated for this spring, and Phase 5 (Siege of Orgrimmar, including the raid) is expected to follow in the summer.

What Blizzard still isn’t saying: what happens after that for the 2019-era Classic progression realms. The company’s recent State of Azeroth recap doesn’t spell out whether these servers will move on to Warlords of Draenor Classic or stop after MoP, so for now it’s still speculation.
