World of Warships outlines 2026 roadmap after studio rebuild

Wargaming has shared a new 2026 roadmap for World of Warships, and the bigger takeaway isn’t just what’s coming to the naval multiplayer game. It’s also a look at how the team has been recovering after Wargaming’s 2022 exit from Russia and Belarus, which split the project’s staff, resources, and infrastructure.

According to the official post, the studio rebuilt its World of Warships operation in Belgrade and had to rehire nearly two-thirds of the team. Wargaming says headcount is now back to roughly where it was before, but rebuilding experience has taken longer, which changed what the team could prioritize.

For the rest of 2026, the roadmap focuses on a handful of long-running issues and core systems rather than big swings. Wargaming says it’s working on matchmaker changes aimed at queue times and tier spread, along with updates to aircraft carrier and anti-aircraft mechanics. Brawls and Operations are also set for improvements, and the team says more quality-of-life work is planned for clans, UI customization, and commanders.

On the technical side, the roadmap mentions tool modernization, map delivery improvements, and graphics-related adjustments. Wargaming also says battle passes will return.

Alongside the roadmap, the game’s current live update is 15.3, which adds the ZH-1 Dockyard and new event passes. More details on that patch are in the update notes.

It’s a fairly plain-spoken roadmap, but that’s kind of the point. Wargaming says this marks a change in how it plans to talk about development going forward, with more direct communication about where the game is at and what the team is actually working on.
