World of Warcraft’s Curse of Ula’tek Update Adds Profession Resets, UI Tweaks, and Bug Fixes
Blizzard has outlined a batch of quality-of-life changes coming to World of Warcraft with the Curse of Ula’tek update, with several fixes already live through recent 12.0.5 hotfixes and Midnight: Revelations. The focus is pretty practical: clearer progression, less UI friction, cheaper housing decor, and fewer annoying bugs during everyday play.
According to Blizzard’s Blue Tracker post, Curse of Ula’tek will include a one-time profession knowledge reset for each profession. That means players will be able to refund spent Knowledge Points and reassign them, which should help anyone who regrets an early crafting path.
- A one-time profession knowledge reset, once per profession.
- Reduced costs for most Midnight crafted housing decor.
- Voidforge services moving to Silvermoon City in Season 2.
- Optional map coordinates in the default UI.
- Account-wide auto-loot settings.
- Auction House filters that stay saved after closing the window.
- Collapsible groups in the currency tab.
- A back button for the Achievements tab and Loss of Control support in UI Edit Mode.
Blizzard is also targeting a few long-running bugs. Curse of Ula’tek should reduce cases where players get stuck in outdoor combat longer than expected, though the studio says it won’t eliminate every instance. Other fixes include transmog display problems on the character select screen, a rare issue where Valeera could suddenly die in Delves, and players sometimes being dismounted when flying into Zul’Aman from Eversong Woods.
Some related changes are already live. Silvermoon City has had performance work to support more players in the area, Prey progress was sped up at lower ranks, weekly quests and dungeon quests now award more experience, and repair costs were lowered by removing durability loss from basic combat actions like swinging a weapon or blocking.
Blizzard says more fixes may be added while Curse of Ula’tek continues testing on the PTR.
