World of Warcraft’s Curse of Ula’tek Notes Detail The Coiled Isle, Lairs, Season 2, and Housing Changes

Blizzard has posted the full notes for World of Warcraft’s Curse of Ula’tek content update, laying out the next major Midnight drop: a new outdoor zone called The Coiled Isle, the Lairs feature, new dungeon and raid content, more Delves, housing additions, UI changes, and the start of Midnight Season 2 on August 18.

According to the official post, The Coiled Isle continues the Zul’jan storyline off the east coast of Zul’Aman. The zone includes Curse Surges, which rotate rare elite spawns across five locations, plus the Vaults of Atal’Utek, where public events build toward a boss fight. Players will also have access to a zone-specific talent tree with power and quality-of-life perks.

  • Lairs are instanced world boss encounters with scaling difficulty, up to flexible Mythic for 15 to 25 players.
  • Altar of Fangs is a new three-boss dungeon, available up to Mythic 0 when the update launches, then joining Mythic+ in Season 2.
  • Venomous Abyss is the new eight-boss raid arriving with Season 2, ending in a fight against Ula’tek.
  • Three new Delves are coming: The Ring of Glory, Gnarldor Isle, and the Venomfall Deeps Nemesis Delve.
  • Season 2 adds a new Mythic+ dungeon rotation, a new PvP season, Bountiful Delves, more Prey content, and keys.
  • Training Grounds is expanding with 3v3 Arena matches against bots.

Housing gets some practical upgrades too. Blueprints will let players save, swap, export, and share house layouts, including full homes, interiors, exteriors, or single rooms. Blueprint codes can be shared across regions except China. Pets can also be placed in homes using Pet Beds, with some indoor pets able to roam around.

The UI changes are pretty broad. The Cooldown Manager will track trinkets, potions, racial abilities, and durations. Auto Loot becomes account-wide, map coordinates can be toggled on, Auction House filters will persist between sessions, and players will be able to ping action bars, Cooldown Manager spells, items, health, and healer mana.

Blizzard is also making larger combat and PvP adjustments. Max-level player health and creature damage are going up by 25%, class interrupts will show a missed visual and sound when used into no cast, and PvP diminishing return categories will reset after 20 seconds instead of 16. Battleground players will receive 20% less healing, while missed Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz queues will now trigger an account-wide queue debuff.
