World of Warcraft: Forever Stress Test Opens to Everyone on October 19

World of Warcraft: Forever is opening its October 19 stress test to all players, with no subscription, Game Time, invite, or beta access required. For the test window, anyone can log in through the Battle.net desktop app, install the special stress test client, and help Blizzard put the servers under load.

The test starts October 19 at 2:00 p.m. PDT in North America and 19:00 CEST in Europe. In Korea and Taiwan, that lands on October 20 at 06:00 KST and 05:00 CST, respectively. Blizzard says the beta will be taken offline shortly before the stress test begins and should return shortly after it ends, though the window may be shortened or extended if needed.

  • Update your graphics drivers before jumping in.
  • Open the Battle.net desktop app and let it update.
  • Select World of Warcraft, then choose World of Warcraft: Forever Stress Test from the Game Version menu under In Development.
  • Install the client, hit Play once the test is live, then pick an available test realm.
  • Create a new test character when prompted and enter the game.

Anything made during the stress test won’t carry forward. Blizzard says all characters, names, and guilds created on the stress test servers will be wiped afterward, ahead of Name Reservations opening on October 27.

The broader beta is also close to wrapping up. October 21 is the final full day of beta testing before World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4.
