World of Warcraft: Forever Name Reservations Open October 27 for Upgrade Buyers

Blizzard is opening early character name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever on October 27 in North America and Europe, with Korea and Taiwan following on October 28. The reservation window runs through November 3, ahead of Forever’s global launch on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST.

The early reservation period is only for eligible players who’ve purchased a World of Warcraft: Forever Digital Upgrade or Collector’s Edition. Blizzard’s listed upgrade options include the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, and the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection.

Players can create and reserve names for up to three characters total across all rulesets during this early window. That cap is shared, so making two characters on a PvP ruleset leaves room for only one more on Normal or Role-Play. Blizzard says names are first come, first served, so there’s no guarantee a specific name will be available.

Forever also uses a two-part naming system. Each character has a first name and a second name, and the full name combination has to be unique within the region, not just on a single realm.

The reservation start times are October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT for North America and 18:00 CET for Europe. Korea and Taiwan start October 28 at 07:00 KST and 07:00 CST, respectively.

To reserve a name, players will need the Battle.net desktop app, then select World of Warcraft and choose World of Warcraft: Forever from the Game Version menu above the Play button. From there, install the client, launch it, pick a ruleset, and create up to three characters.

World of Warcraft: Forever access is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time at launch. The current beta runs through October 21, and Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes from qualifying purchases are being sent by email beginning October 20, letting invited friends play from November 4 through November 11 without a subscription.
