Windrose says its first major content update is at least six months away
Windrose players shouldn’t expect the game’s first big content drop anytime soon. Kraken Express said the update is still at least six months out as the studio focuses on stabilizing the survival crafting game before adding more substantial content.
According to the official post, the team considers its plans fairly high-level right now, but one thing it has confirmed is a new biome called the Ashlands. Beyond that, the studio hasn’t locked down much of the update’s final shape yet.
In the meantime, the near-term work is more about fixes than expansion. Kraken Express said the next round of updates will target connection problems, CPU and disk usage, server performance, some new building pieces, and a handful of quality-of-life changes.
The studio has also launched a dedicated support site for troubleshooting, bug reports, and player feedback. That’s a useful sign of where things stand at the moment: less about rushing out new zones or systems, more about getting the foundation in better shape first.
Windrose is backed by Pocketpair and is still early enough in development that a slower content cadence probably isn’t too surprising. Still, for anyone waiting on a bigger reason to jump back in, this sounds like a fairly long hold.
