Wildgate patch revamps progression with Starlogs and a new perks system

Wildgate just got a progression shake-up in its latest update, with Moonshot Games rolling out a new Starlogs system and a fresh layer of character perks. The patch is live now, according to the developer update on the official site.

The big change is Starlogs, which are meant to rework how you unlock gear. Instead of the old setup, Starlogs hand out new weapons and equipment, pushing players to try different loadouts and playstyles. Alongside that is a new perks system tied to Starlogs, adding passive buffs to your character for more build customization.

Outside of progression, the patch also adds a new Battle Scout ship. Moonshot says it’s built around fast turning and comes with prospector catapults.

There’s also new “micro” points of interest showing up in Treasure Hunt and Explore mode, plus a round of balance changes. Moonshot didn’t highlight every tweak in the announcement, but the focus here is clearly on giving players more reasons to experiment and stick with the grind.

Wildgate launched with a bang 8 months ago when it hit 7,799 concurrent players on Steam. Since then its bled players ever since. The game’s 24 hour peak was just 41 on Steam. The game isn’t totally dead as the game was free on Epic Games. Still, the way things are looking, the future for Wildgate looks grim.
