WARDOGS Season 3 Is Being Moved Up After Season 2 Progression Misfire
BULKHEAD says it’s looking to bring WARDOGS Season 3 forward after Season 2’s progression changes missed the mark. Season 02 launched in Early Access on October 15, 2026 with the game’s first progression wipe, plus new equipment and vehicles, but the developer now says the reset “never really landed” for many players.
In an October 17 statement, the studio said it deliberately sped up progression for Season 2, but called that “the wrong call.” Some players have already reached endgame gear, including Tier 4 armor and main battle tanks, within days of the wipe. BULKHEAD said it won’t do an immediate reset this weekend, since that would punish players who are still enjoying the climb, but it is now looking at significantly moving up Season 3 and some of its planned content.
The studio had already pushed a backend update on October 16 to address some early problems from the new season. The main changes included:
- Removing the Lonestar Cash and XP bonus
- Fixing driver progression issues
- Addressing a driver exploit that let players access tanks too early
- Preparing Limited Mode servers with no power weapons or vehicles
BULKHEAD also said in replies from the official WARDOGS account that players who abused the driver exploit are being temporarily banned, with their cash and XP reset to 0. The studio said the exploit is “very easy” to track and admitted, “we dropped the ball here.”
The planned Limited Mode servers should give players who prefer WARDOGS’ early-to-mid game pacing a place to play without tanks and other high-end tools dominating matches. There’s no date yet for Season 3, but BULKHEAD says more details are coming in next week’s dev vlog.
