Ubisoft names new Assassin’s Creed leadership team under Vantage Studios
Ubisoft has named a new leadership team for Assassin’s Creed, with three longtime franchise vets stepping into top roles as the series moves under Vantage Studios, the Tencent-backed Ubisoft subsidiary.
According to Ubisoft’s official post, Martin Schelling is now Head of Assassin’s Creed Brand, Jean Guesdon is Head of Content, and François de Billy is Head of Production Excellence. Ubisoft says they’ll be responsible for the brand’s overall strategy, creative direction across projects, and production practices.
Schelling previously served as Ubisoft’s Chief Production Officer and has worked at Ubisoft Montreal for years, including on entries like Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Black Flag, Origins, and Valhalla. Guesdon is another long-running name on the series, having previously held a similar content role for the brand and served as Creative Director on Origins and Black Flag. De Billy has also been in production leadership on multiple mainline games, including Valhalla, Origins, and Black Flag.
Ubisoft says the trio will transition over the next few weeks, joining an existing leadership group that includes Andrée-Anne Boisvert (cross-brand initiatives and technological excellence) and Lionel Hiller (VP brand and go-to-market strategy).
This all lands amid Ubisoft’s broader restructuring into “Creative Houses,” which has also involved layoffs and studio closures.
