Tree of Savior players spot a familiar class in March’s Leticia Cube

IMCGames’ Steam version of Tree of Savior has added something unusual to its March Leticia’s Cube lineup: an unlock voucher for a Swordsman advanced class called Eskrimer that looks a whole lot like the game’s existing Fencer class.

The comparison started making the rounds after a Reddit post pointed out the similarities between Eskrimer and Fencer, including its general role and what appears to be a very close match in skills, though some ability icons seem to differ. According to the official cube listing, the Eskrimer unlock voucher is an S-rank item with a base drop rate of 0.35%.

Special classes showing up in Leticia’s Cube isn’t new for Tree of Savior. What stands out here is that Eskrimer doesn’t appear to be a completely new concept. From what’s visible so far, it looks more like a renamed or slightly adjusted take on one of the MMO’s original advanced classes. IMCGames hasn’t clearly explained, at least in the material currently being discussed, how different Eskrimer actually is from Fencer.

The Reddit thread that raised the issue argues that this crosses a line players might not expect, since it gives the impression that an older class has effectively been repackaged as a low-chance lockbox reward. That interpretation hasn’t been formally confirmed, but the overlap is noticeable enough that it’s already drawing criticism from players watching the game’s monetization closely.

For now, the main confirmed details are simple: Eskrimer is in the current March Leticia’s Cube on the Steam version of Tree of Savior, and getting its unlock voucher through the box is a long shot.
