Throne and Liberty Shows Off New Frozen Divide Bosses Ahead of June 25 Launch

Throne and Liberty’s next expansion, The Frozen Divide, arrives June 25, and NCSoft and Amazon Games are giving players a closer look at some of the fights waiting in the frozen region of Nix.

The preview focuses on two co-op dungeon bosses, Fellinex and Vulcanus, plus the new Archboss Dragon Knight Ramux and the first Colossus-class encounter, Vegamor. The full breakdown is in the official post, which also includes screenshots and design notes from the team.

Fellinex is probably the strangest of the bunch: a giant mechanical cat found in Stone Grave Cradle. The developers say the fight pulls from actual cat behavior, including the idea of a “hidey-hole cat tower,” though players probably shouldn’t expect anything cute once the battle starts.

The second co-op dungeon, Frostbreath Cave, leans harder into the expansion’s frozen setting. Its boss, Vulcanus, is described as an Abomination that mixes beast-like traits with an Ironclad Beetle, giving it a bulky, horned design built around creatures adapted to the cold.

The new Archboss, Dragon Knight Ramux, fights alongside her dragon mount, Atirat. Players will need to bring down the mount first before Ramux enters a new frenzied state. That encounter will also make use of terrain, crowd control, and Emplaced Weapons placed around the battlefield.

Vegamor is the big new spectacle fight. Literally. The Colossus stands around 200 meters tall, according to the preview, and is designed as a different kind of boss category for Throne and Liberty. Like the Ramux fight, it sounds like players will need to rely on Emplaced Weapons rather than simply attacking the boss head-on.

The Frozen Divide is also set to bring a new region and broader system changes when it launches later this month.
