The First Descendant maps out Season 4, new Descendants, and anniversary events
Nexon used its Descendant Fest 2026 livestream to lay out what’s next for The First Descendant, including a first look at Season 4’s story, a second anniversary event, and a roadmap covering the back half of 2026.
The Season 4 trailer, subtitled The Great Clash, focuses on the fight against Karel and an assault on Albion. The bigger takeaway, though, is the update schedule. Nexon is lining up changes to Intercept Battles in July, a new season and Mega Dungeon in August, more Descendants later in the year, and the game’s first asymmetric PvEvP mode in December.
- On July 15, Intercept Battle content is being reorganized. Hard Difficulty Intercept Battle and Void Abyss Intercept Battle will be merged into one mode with tiered difficulties, plus a new Extreme tier for a tougher challenge.
- On August 20, Season 4 Episode 1 begins with a new Mega Dungeon built around the fight with Karel. Nexon says it will be larger than existing dungeons and include multiple bosses.
- Two weeks after the August update, a limited-time Conquest difficulty mode and ranking run event will go live with rewards attached.
- The August update also adds Raven, a new Descendant who uses repositioning, shotgun attacks, and a summonable Raven Form.
- A new Transcendent Weapon system is planned for August, with 11 weapons built around mix-and-match unique effects for long-term farming.
- On September 17, Ultimate Hailey joins the roster alongside two new Ultimate Skill Modules and a new dungeon-like activity called Cradle of Evolution.
- November brings the Henosis Sanctuary dungeon and another new Descendant, Monet.
- In December, Colosseum-A introduces asymmetric PvEvP, splitting players into competing factions fighting Vulgus while interfering with each other’s objectives. Players will also be able to transform into a Colossus.
The livestream also included a creator roundtable with the development team, covering feedback around content, Descendants, and weapons. Nexon also released a second anniversary infographic with stats like total playtime, mission count, most-played Descendants, and most-used weapons. Starting July 2, players can check their own personal infographic on the official site.
The second anniversary event is live now and is planned to run for about two weeks. It includes new customization items, returning first anniversary cosmetics, growth-support events, web events, and the first distribution of the Transcendent Alignment Device.
