The Elder Scrolls Online Update 52 Hits PTS With Jerall Pass PvP and Rimegales

The Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 52 is now live on the PC/Mac Public Test Server, giving players an early look at base-game changes planned for January. The update is currently scheduled for January 19, while the new Jerall Pass PvP zone is set to become permanently available on January 27 with the start of Season 3.

The big addition is Jerall Pass, a new three-sided, Alliance-based open-world PvP zone north of Cyrodiil. On the PTS, it’s being tested as a 40v40v40 zone, though ZeniMax says that could change based on queue times, population, and server performance.

  • Jerall Pass includes one central keep, resources to capture, quest boards, Skyshards, fishing, and named bosses.
  • A new currency, Jerall Marks, can be earned through repeatable quests and boss kills, then spent on items including past Veterancy rewards and rotating gear offerings.
  • Rimegales are new world events in Eastmarch and the Rift, with icy storms, Rime Giants, and bonfires used to counter a Frigid Chill debuff.
  • Housing limits are increasing for Classic and Notable homes thanks to new furniture streaming tech, with the biggest visual impact expected on consoles.
  • Player-experience changes include Companion customization, a mini map UI, Armory integration for Scribing, and area-of-effect taunts and pulls on some abilities.

Rimegales are also on a fixed schedule, which is new for ESO world events. They appear in the Rift every hour on the hour, and in Eastmarch on the half hour. When active, they take over all three Dark Anchor locations in the zone, with Dark Anchors returning after the event ends.

Players who want to test the update can enable the Public Test Environment from the PC/Mac ESO launcher settings, then download the PTS client. Feedback and bug reports can be sent in-game with “/feedback” or “/bug” in chat.
