Tabula Rasa Fan Server Project Infinite Rasa Gets a Working Dev Server

Infinite Rasa, the fan-run effort to revive NCsoft’s shuttered sci-fi MMO Tabula Rasa, has posted its first notable progress update in years. The team says it now has a functioning development server running on MySQL, and that it can be logged into using the 1.16.5.0 client.

That doesn’t mean Tabula Rasa is back online for everyone. The project still doesn’t have a public server available for players, and the developers are currently working through MySQL-related bugs. According to the project’s about page, fans can’t simply jump in and play yet.

The update is still a meaningful step for a project that had been quiet publicly for a long stretch. Infinite Rasa previously described the work as “a ways off,” and the latest Discord progress report suggests the team is now able to test against a real development environment rather than just talk through plans.

For anyone with the technical skill to help, the Rasa.NET emulator is open source on GitHub. The team is encouraging people to run it locally and submit bug reports, which could help push the emulator closer to a playable state.

Tabula Rasa originally launched in 2007 and shut down in 2009. Like many dead MMO revival projects, Infinite Rasa is still unofficial, fan-made, and very much a work in progress.
