Steel Aces Open Play Weekend Starts September 25 With Permanent Accounts

Steel Aces is opening its doors for an Open Play weekend from Friday, September 25, 2026, at around 16:00 CEST through Sunday around midnight. The free-to-play tank MMO from Armative Studios is treating this one differently from earlier tests: accounts are permanent, so players can lock in usernames and keep their progress.

The studio says progress from the weekend is intended to carry forward into early access. That makes this the first test where players are effectively starting “for real,” rather than jumping into another temporary build.

The Open Play version also includes a broad tuning pass aimed at launch. Armative has adjusted driving physics based on community feedback, rebalanced the vision system to its intended launch values, and made more changes to gun dispersion, aiming stats, vehicle progression paths, and related numbers.

Steel Aces is built around historically authentic armored vehicles, realistic vehicle physics, and tank combat that leans on positioning, precision aim, and component damage instead of simple health-bar trading. Players can join the weekend by downloading the client from the official Steel Aces site.
