Star Wars Galaxies Restoration III rolls out its Shatterpoint update with a reworked Galactic Civil War
Star Wars Galaxies Restoration III is launching its next major update, called Shatterpoint, bringing a big rework to the emulator’s Galactic Civil War systems. According to the official post, the update goes live tomorrow. For those unfamiliar with Restoration, it’s a private server for Star Wars Galaxies with a reimagined Jedi unlock system.
The core change with this recent update is a new point-driven war loop built around crackdowns and uprisings, plus intelligence and counter-intelligence missions. The update also adds supply line gameplay and “flashpoints” that can spawn during the conflict, with the whole thing playing out over multi-week cycles.
Those cycles are meant to build toward the Shatterpoint event itself, which triggers once four of the game’s seven planets fall under either Imperial or Rebel control. From there, several different types of final battles can happen, and the devs say the galaxy will show “lasting scars” before the cycle resets.
Outside of the war revamp, Shatterpoint adds an endgame prestige system that lets players level up skill trees tied to specific activities, including crafting and PvP. Neutral players are also getting a new mercenary faction option so they can take part in PvP without fully committing to Rebels or Imperials.
Rounding things out, the update includes faction base adjustments aimed at making them more PvE-focused, plus new PvP battlegrounds at Echo Base and Restuss, along with general fixes and tuning.
