Star Trek Online’s “Corruption” update hits PC with a new episode, TFO, and 16th anniversary event
Star Trek Online’s latest update, Corruption, is now live on PC, and it doubles as the game’s 16th anniversary drop. It brings a new anniversary story episode, a fresh five-player Task Force Operation, and a limited-time anniversary event. Console players will get the update on March 10th.
The new episode is called Curse of Phrygia. It reunites players with Captain Ezri Dax, again voiced by Nicole de Boer, who pulls you into trouble at the MIDAS Array. The mission revolves around a Chimeran incursion and pushes you through fights involving psionic beacons that call in reinforcements, plus an infested interior once you’re inside the array.
Finish the episode for the first time and you’ll unlock an Operator outfit worn by an ally in the story. The update also adds two new hairstyles, “Pixie” and “Shaggy,” tied to the episode’s look.
On the group content side, the new TFO is Belly of the Beast, a five-person ground mission where you’re basically holding the line at the MIDAS Array until help arrives.
The anniversary event is also titled Corruption and centers on the Chimerans spreading and sabotaging major fleets, with some Alliance structures becoming infested. Cryptic also added a handful of new Lobi Store items, including the Aetherian Proton Disintegrator (with cosmetic options), the Aetherian Concordium Armor and costume unlock, and an Aetherian Drone Pet with five color variants.
Again, it’s available on PC now, with the console release set for March 10th.
