Star Trek Online brings the Corruption anniversary update to consoles

Star Trek Online’s 16th anniversary update, Corruption, is now live on console. It includes the new story episode Curse of Phrygia, a fresh Task Force Operation, and the 16th anniversary event.

The update’s main hook is the Chimerans, who are spreading a corruption that’s hitting fleets and major Alliance structures. The anniversary event is built around pushing them back and earning rewards along the way.

Curse of Phrygia brings back Nicole de Boer as Starfleet Captain Ezri Dax, who calls you to the MIDAS Array to help deal with a Chimeran incursion and a compromised communications array. De Boer also voices a new character here, and the update includes other returning voice actors in new roles as well.

On the group content side, the new five-player TFO The Belly of the Beast takes place at the MIDAS Array after the Chimerans break through. You’re fighting to hold the line with Ezri until reinforcements arrive. Cryptic also flags this one for “thriller elements and disturbing visuals of biological infections,” so it might be a rougher ride than usual.

There are a couple smaller additions too: two new free hairstyles for character customization, plus new items in the Lobi Store, including an Aetherian Drone Pet with five different color variants.
