Star Citizen’s Ship Showdown Returns With Fan Submissions and Free Ship Trials

Star Citizen’s Ship Showdown is back, giving players another chance to campaign for their favorite ships and vehicles through fan creations. Submissions can include art, music, models, videos, or other community-made work, with entries accepted through the official Community Hub or on X using the #StarCitizen and #ShipShowdown hashtags.

Per the official rules, Roberts Space Industries will pick 10 winners from the Community Hub and five from X. Each winner gets a Kruger L-22 Alpha Wolf in-game ship.

The event also ties into a short free-fly period. Ships that make it into the top eight will be available to try for free from August 26 through September 2. After that, players can vote on the overall winner, and backers of the winning ship will receive a manufacturer-themed bomber jacket.

Players who want to submit through the site can do so through Star Citizen’s Community Hub. The event lands around a busy stretch for the game, with Foundation Festival also returning and Alpha 4.9 recently adding new missions and reticle changes.
