SpaceCraft hits Steam Early Access on May 20
Shiro Games has set a Steam Early Access date for SpaceCraft. The online sci-fi sandbox launches on May 20, giving players their first public shot at its mix of shipbuilding, exploration, resource gathering, trading, and player-driven industry. The genre on the Steam page lists it as ‘Massively Multiplayer’, though it looks more like a traditional sandbox survival game.
According to the game’s Steam page, the Early Access version will include the core systems Shiro considers fully playable at launch. From there, the studio says updates will focus on expanding social tools for player-run corporations and adding more sectors to explore.
SpaceCraft has been pitched as a large-scale multiplayer sandbox built around multiple star systems, industrial progression, and an economy where players compete as much as they cooperate. The broad idea is less about scripted story beats and more about carving out a place in a shared universe, whether that means building up production chains, trading resources, or getting involved in economic PvP.
There’s still plenty we don’t know about the longer-term roadmap beyond that general outline. The source material doesn’t include pricing details, and Shiro hasn’t shared much else here beyond the release date and the basic Early Access plan.
