Soulframe details Preludes 14 with a new questline, pact, and weapon changes

Digital Extremes has shared a closer look at what’s coming in Soulframe’s Preludes 14 pre-alpha update. According to the official post, the build adds a new questline, a new pact, and several combat and progression changes, along with previews of a few activities players will be able to tackle.

The recap also fills in some specifics that weren’t covered in the earlier stream rundown. That includes a look at the rapiers tied to the new content, more detail on the new pact’s abilities, and previews of activities like fallen skycastles and the Mirifuir siege.

A few system changes stand out. Runes will now be activated manually instead of triggering on smite, which should change how players time their abilities in fights. Digital Extremes also said joineries are being adjusted, but existing joineries won’t be wiped when the update arrives.

Preludes 14 is also set to add four new weapons for existing weapon types. The studio’s recap ends with a bit of lighter stuff too, including new concept art and a contest that lets players design a small spirit guide bird.

Soulframe is still in pre-alpha, so the update is less about a full release roadmap and more about showing where the game’s combat, quests, and world events are headed next.
