Soulbound: Online Launches Into Steam Early Access
Spiderware has launched Soulbound: Online into Steam Early Access, bringing its pixel-art MMORPG roguelite to Valve’s storefront after previously running as a browser and Discord-based game. The studio says the game already has more than 1 million players, with over 100 hours of content available at Early Access launch. Not sure where the 1 million figure comes from. As of this post the game hit an all time high peak of 1,241 concurrent players on Steam.
The game is available now on its Steam page. Spiderware says Early Access will be used to gather feedback through Discord, Steam forums, and reviews, with future updates aimed at economy tuning, dungeon balance, and new content.
Soulbound: Online mixes MMO progression with replayable roguelite dungeons. Players build a character around roles like tank, healer, DPS, or hybrid, then run dungeons solo or in groups of up to four. There’s also a home base system for crafting, gathering, farming, and other life skills in a mob-free overworld.
- 60 levels of progression are available now, with levels 51 through 99 planned for later.
- 25 roguelite dungeons are included across six tiers, with tiers 5 and 6 added for this launch.
- Combat has been reworked, changing how fights play across the game.
- Players can use more than 12 abilities and over 200 relic trees, including around 150 new relic choices.
- Dungeon chest gear now rolls its own stats, creating more build variety.
- A new raid boss is included, with more raids planned during Early Access.
- More than 500 achievements and achievement diaries can unlock cosmetics, mounts, extra bags, teleports, and other quality-of-life rewards.
- A new dungeon finder is available for grouping with friends.
The setup is simple enough: make a Pioneer, build up your home base, run quests and dungeons, and push toward fights against The Anima, the game’s main hostile force. How much of that changes during Early Access will depend partly on what players ask for and what Spiderware chooses to prioritize next.
