Sensor Tower report says mobile revenue barely moved in 2025 while PC and console jumped 13%
Sensor Tower’s State of Gaming 2026 report paints a pretty clear split for 2025: mobile money is basically flat, while PC and console climbed. The firm says mobile game revenue grew just 1% year over year to $82 billion, even with 52 billion total game downloads across mobile, PC, and console.
PC and console, meanwhile, saw revenue rise 13%. Sensor Tower also reports downloads and releases on those platforms were up (7% and 8.4%), with growth driven mostly by AA and AAA publishers.
On the PC and console sales side, the report claims Battlefield 6 was the best-selling game of 2025, with EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC 26 in second and third. Sensor Tower notes the two EA Sports FC games combined sold more than Battlefield 6. For free-to-play downloads, Skate led the pack, followed by Marvel Rivals, then Delta Force and Deadlock.
Indies also had a strong showing. Sensor Tower lists R.E.P.O. and Peak as 2025’s best-selling indie games, and ties that success to “chaotic co-op” styles of play.
On mobile, the report argues the market is leaning harder into monetization and retention since downloads are shrinking while revenue holds steady. It also points to strategy as the one genre that gained across revenue, downloads, and time spent, led by Last War: Survival and Whiteout Survival (the top two mobile games by revenue in 2025, according to the report).
