Sea of Thieves Adds Outfit Saving and Halloween Events in October

Rare has laid out Sea of Thieves’ October schedule, and it’s a packed one. The big permanent addition arrives with the October 22 update, which adds outfit saving to the Clothing Chest and brings Golden Sands Outpost to Custom Seas.

The rest of the month is built around weekly events, a Community Weekend, and the return of Festival of the Damned for Halloween. Here’s the main stuff worth tracking:

  • Fight Nights run every Tuesday, giving crews a regular reason to get into naval scraps.
  • Emissaries of Fortune takes over Wednesdays, with extra focus on trading company play.
  • Bilge Rats Weekender runs October 16 to 19, featuring Smuggler Voyages and Reaper Fortress Mega Stashes.
  • The October update lands October 22 with outfit saving and Golden Sands Outpost in Custom Seas.
  • Community Weekend runs October 23 to 26 with Community Emissary Grade rewards, Pop-Up Plunder, Picture Walls, Twitch Drops, and the Pocket Pumpkin Emote available through the Quest Board.
  • Festival of the Damned runs October 27 to November 3, with Halloween-themed cosmetics and activities.

During Festival of the Damned, players can earn the Bucket of Confections emote for the event and permanently unlock the Soulflame Mask. Sharing confections can also grant Spiritfire Makeup, while taking the mask to the Fort of the Damned ties into Soulflame Skeletons, Doubloon rewards, and progress toward the Candlelight of the Damned Lantern.

The Pirate Emporium will also hold a Halloween sale from October 28 to November 3. Separately, Rare’s Sail Design Competition remains open through October 23, so players still have a little time to submit a design before the deadline.
