RuneScape’s Official Plugin Hub Is Live In-Game

Jagex has officially launched plugins in RuneScape, bringing the feature out of open beta and into the live game as of October 19, 2026. Players can now browse, install, manage, and report plugins through the in-game RuneScape Plugin Hub.

The launch lineup is made up of the plugins that were available during the open beta. That includes:

  • Quest Helper, covering 69 quests
  • Menu Entry Swapper
  • Tilemarkers
  • Entity Hider
  • Job Gauges

Plugins are accessed through the Ribbon menu via a toolbox icon. In classic interface mode, it should appear on the ribbon by default. In modern interface mode, players may need to find it under Settings or add it to a custom ribbon if there isn’t room.

Jagex is keeping the system fully inside the RuneScape client, so plugins won’t run in separate windows outside the game. They also have to follow official guidelines and go through a submission and approval process before appearing in the Hub. The basic rule is that plugins can support play, but they can’t automate actions or play the game for you.

A verified email address is required to use plugins, since they’re hosted through mod.io. Jagex recommends using the email tied to a Jagex Account, though it isn’t required right now. The studio says automatic Jagex Account verification and more mod.io features, including ratings and subscriptions, are planned for later.

Plugin development is also now open to the community through the RuneScape API and submission process. Jagex says more plugins are already in moderation, with future batches expected over the next few months. Clue Trainer and Ground Items are among the examples mentioned, though no release dates were given.

Jagex is also adding a new “Luanatic” title for players or developers who make major contributions to the Plugin Hub, awarded at the studio’s discretion.
