RuneScape starts monthly “Month Ahead” posts and adds the Princess and the Pauper quest

Jagex is rolling out a new monthly planning post for RuneScape called “Month Ahead,” and it’s starting now. The idea is simple: on the first day of each month, players will get a week-by-week look at what updates, betas, and community discussions are scheduled.

Alongside the new format, RuneScape also got a fresh quest today: Princess and the Pauper, a small mystery set in Fort Forinthry starring a spaniel named Princess who’s accused after food starts disappearing.

According to the Month Ahead post, each weekly entry is meant to be more than just a list of patch days. It also calls out when betas are running, and it includes specific community topics underneath each week so players know what feedback Jagex is looking for at the time.

This week’s schedule includes a continuation of the combat style modernization beta. Jagex is also kicking off a community conversation led by new community manager Mod Anvil about what players want the RuneScape community to look like and how communication can be improved.

Later in the week, Jagex says it will publish a design-focused blog about its broader “new era” vision. The Month Ahead post also points to Friday as the day players should hear what’s planned for “Dailyscape” and an early-game rebalance.

Looking further into February, Jagex teases additional community topics, including discussion around the planned Aura overhaul. The combat style modernization beta is set to continue through the month, with feedback information later on and an update currently targeted for late February.
