RuneScape: Dragonwilds Leaves Early Access September 15 on PC and Consoles
Jagex has set a full launch date for RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The open-world survival crafting spin-off will leave Early Access on September 15 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The announcement came during Summer Game Fest, shortly after Jagex confirmed the PS5 version at State of Play. It also marks a notable step for the studio, since Dragonwilds will be Jagex’s first console launch. The game is already available in Early Access on PC, where it has sold more than one million copies in its first year.
Dragonwilds is set in Ashenfall, a previously unexplored continent in Gielinor. It can be played solo or in co-op groups of up to four, with players gathering resources, building bases, crafting gear and potions, leveling skills, and fighting through familiar RuneScape-inspired threats like Zogres and Black Knights.
Magic is a big part of the survival loop. Players can use spells in combat, but also for practical jobs, like summoning a Spectral Axe to chop wood. Dragons are scattered across the world too, with progression eventually pointing players toward the Dragon Queen.
There’s still more coming before the 1.0 launch. Jagex says the Umbral Sands region arrives this month, alongside Magic Carpets, Adamant Tier, and Nightmare Crucible. July is set to bring new quests and activities, plus the Agility skill. Another major update is planned for September, which now looks likely to line up with the full release.
