RuneScape: Dragonwilds Heads to the Umbral Sands on June 23
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is getting its next major early access update on June 23, and Jagex says it’ll be the last big content drop before the survival game reaches 1.0. The update sends players into the Umbral Sands, a new desert region built around heat, hostile creatures, and a showdown with the Dragon General Fuzan.
The setup brings in Icthlarin, the jackal-headed Desert God of the Underworld, as players push through Garou ruins, Dragonkin vaults, and Kalphite territory. It’s still the same co-op survival framework, just with a harsher biome and a few region-specific hazards layered on top.
The main new survival wrinkle is Scorch. Standing in direct sunlight will drain Thirst and Hunger faster, so players will need to manage shade, protective clothing, and cooling food while exploring. Night isn’t a free pass either, since Fuzan’s Red Lesser Dragons will come down to hunt after dark.
Jagex is also adding magic carpets as mounts, because if you’re doing the desert zone, you might as well commit.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is currently in early access, with the full 1.0 launch planned for September 15. The game is headed to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. More details are listed on the game’s Steam page.
