RuneScape: Dragonwilds Adds Agility in Its Next Early Access Update
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is getting its last Steam Early Access update before the Scorned Wilderness Raid, and the headline feature is a big one: Agility. Update 0.12.1 adds the new skill alongside a longer side quest, weapon upgrades, movement tweaks, visual improvements, and a pile of bug fixes.
Agility works through six course stations across Ashenfall. Players follow fixed routes, collect orbs, chase better times, and earn XP with each lap. Courses also have leaderboards, Gold Medal rewards, and gilded trimmed versions of regional capes for players who master them.
The skill isn’t limited to courses, though. Running around the world can grant passive Agility XP, but mounts won’t count. Leveling the skill reduces stamina drain while sprinting, adds carry weight increases at levels 50 and 75, and unlocks shortcuts through Kebbit Burrows. Higher levels also reduce fall damage, though fatal drops can still kill you.
- Windstep is moving from Runecrafting to Agility, with a later upgrade that knocks enemies down when you land.
- Agility adds an aerial dash and a second jump, giving players more options for traversal and combat movement.
- A new Recall skill spell lets players place a marker and teleport back to it. It can also save you from a lethal fall once, consuming the tether.
- Jumping will cost 10 stamina instead of 20, with further reductions tied to Agility progress.
Update 0.12.1 also adds The Great Body Robbery, described by the team as its longest secondary quest so far. It takes place in Bloodblight Swamp and involves Doctor Fenkenstrain. Rewards include a new club weapon and the Pylon, a buildable decoration that intercepts lightning strikes in an area around it.
Combat and inventory handling are getting some practical changes too. Ascension Cores can be used at the Mystic Forge to upgrade Masterwork and Vestige weapons to higher tiers. A radial hotwheel is being added for controller and keyboard-and-mouse players, and players will be able to quick cast either a spell or an item. Swapping from a two-handed weapon back to a one-handed weapon will also re-equip the off-hand item automatically.
Jagex says 0.12.1 includes performance and visual work across Brynmoor, Ghornfell, fog, trees, grass, the coastline, night skies, and storm effects. The bug list is long, with fixes covering woodcutting XP issues, multiplayer rune vents, crashes, map problems, controller camera input, quest rewards, Kalphite Queen bugs, and several collision issues.
