RuneScape details Havenhythe ahead of March 23, while OSRS adds more travel changes
Jagex has shared a closer look at Havenhythe, the big new RuneScape area set to open on Monday, March 23. According to the official post, the expansion brings a new region with fresh Hunting activities tied to the skill’s new 110 cap, two new bosses aimed at low- and mid-level players, and new spots for skills like Slayer and Fishing. It also kicks off the first part of a new story questline.
That’s the main RuneScape update, but Jagex also used its latest Road to Restoration entry to talk about longer-term avatar improvements. This one is more about direction than a feature reveal, with plans for visual refreshes, better skin textures on various outfits, and separating headgear from character heads. Most of that work is currently planned for later this year.
Havenhythe sounds like a broad expansion rather than a single activity drop. Jagex is positioning it as a major new chunk of the world, with progression hooks for several skills and a couple of bosses for players who aren’t necessarily at endgame. If you play RuneScape regularly, this is the part to keep an eye on next week.
Old School RuneScape also got its usual round of weekly changes, this time with more travel updates from the game’s Getting Around poll. The patch adds ways to recover lost quetzal whistles and includes a minigame teleport menu, alongside a handful of Sailing tweaks, options for level-up pop-up windows, and some smaller general fixes.
So the short version is pretty straightforward: RuneScape gets a sizeable new area on March 23, avatar rework plans are still moving in the background, and OSRS keeps chipping away at travel friction in weekly patches.
