Roblox says Bruno Mars’ Steal a Brainrot concert hit 12.8 million concurrent viewers

Roblox says a Bruno Mars performance inside the user-created mode Steal a Brainrot pulled in 12.8 million concurrent users, which the company is calling its biggest single-artist virtual concert on the platform. According to the event page, attendees also received “Brunito Marsito” brainrot collectibles, with Roblox claiming players picked up 5,428,644 of them in total.

The set included Mars’ new single “I Just Might” alongside “Locked Out of Heaven.” Unlike some earlier Roblox concerts, this one used standard Roblox character models and animation, rather than custom motion capture.

Roblox also reported 10 million livestream viewers across 14 countries and said the event generated 53 million social video views. For comparison, that 12.8 million concurrent figure is below the 14.3 million Epic claimed for Fortnite’s 2024 music event featuring Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Juice WRLD, and Ice Spice.

Mars has shown up in Fortnite before as well, appearing as a performer in Fortnite Festival last year. Meanwhile, Roblox has been leaning further into licensed music, including a previously announced deal with Sony Music to feature its artists.

This comes as Roblox continues to face scrutiny over safety and moderation. The company recently rolled out mandatory age checks for anyone who wants to use in-game chat, following ongoing criticism about what kids can run into on the platform.
