RF Online Next Adds Mining War in Its First Major Update

Netmarble has rolled out the first major content update for RF ONLINE NEXT, adding Mining War, a new large-scale faction mode, alongside cross-server combat and more progression options.

Mining War is the headline addition. It pits the sci-fi MMORPG’s three factions against each other over the Holy Stone, with top-ranked guilds first fighting in a Skirmish to decide who represents each side. Those guilds then move into the Faction War, where the goal is to destroy enemy Excavators and take control of key resources. Players outside the chosen guilds can still join in as mercenaries.

The mode also makes use of Biosuit flight. As a match develops, new aerial routes open up, giving players ways to slip into enemy territory, set up attacks, or go straight for an opposing Excavator instead of just pushing through the front line.

Winning guilds get some notable server-level perks, including control of marketplace taxes, Holy Stone mining rights, dedicated hunting areas, and Guild Mothership rewards. The first winners of Mining War will also get the First Conqueror title. Once the war ends, the public mining area opens to all players on that server.

  • Outer Planet has been added as a cross-server combat region, starting with Albern Crater.
  • Albern Crater includes the Hypergravity environmental effect, with ways to counter it through resistance and related systems.
  • A new boss, Xenogeyser, can drop Epic-grade Prime equipment.
  • The update adds Expansion equipment, new Epic-grade skills, the Epic-grade MAU Pantera, and the Epic-grade Launcher Basilisk.
  • Arcane Trials is a new five-player party dungeon with randomized encounters and multiple difficulty levels.

RF ONLINE NEXT is the sequel to RF Online and leans on faction warfare, Biosuit class switching, MAUs, Launchers, and other sci-fi battlefield tools. This update is clearly aimed at giving endgame players more reasons to fight over territory, servers, and guild rewards.
