RF Online Next Adds Chapter 10, Tempest MAU, and a New Gear Conversion System
Netmarble has rolled out a new RF ONLINE NEXT update with Chapter 10, pushing the sci-fi MMORPG’s story into the frozen region of Severia. The update is live now and adds new quests, zones, progression tracks, field bosses, and a Legendary MAU called Tempest.
Chapter 10 brings players to Severin Research Base, Nable Mining Field, and Pumus Quarantine Zone, with new Main Quests, Side Quests, and Faction Quests tied to the region. Collection, Exploration Reports, and Memory Chip progression have also been expanded. Two new field bosses, MPF-01 Castle and Sarpedon, are now available as part of the update.
The bigger systems addition is Material Conversion. Players can use four to six unbound Rare-grade or higher equipment items for a chance at higher-grade or higher-tier gear. The system is also the only way to get the new Circlet equipment type and certain special collection items, so it gives players another sink for extra gear instead of just leaving it in storage.
Tempest is the new Legendary MAU, built around long-range combat. Its kit includes area attacks, freezing skills, and bonus damage against frozen enemies, which should make it a more control-focused option compared with some of the game’s other battlefield tools.
Netmarble also confirmed an upcoming Core World update. Core World will be a large-scale cross-server PvPvE mode for players level 60 and up, running every other week. Up to 450 players from multiple servers will be matched together, with teams fighting through a Krator Guardian before taking on the world boss Krator. The server with the highest total contribution across battlefields wins and gets special combat and hunting buffs.
The update also kicks off limited-time events for RF ONLINE NEXT’s first 50 days of global service in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Those include login events for new and returning players, commemorative missions, reward events, and the 50-Day Festival Rakan Pirates’ Revenge event.
