Project Gorgon devs may revisit launch-day vendor stall changes, with more shops planned next month
Project Gorgon’s launch-day overhaul to Serbule’s vendor stalls is getting some pushback, and Elder Game is asking players to give it time before any bigger course correction. Developer Eric Heimburg says the team is treating the new stall pricing as an “experiment” and wants to see how it plays out over roughly the first 90 days.
The change, introduced with the game’s January launch patch, made Serbule’s rental stalls get much more expensive after 30 days. The idea was to keep high-end players from camping the beginner-friendly market long-term, and to push longer-term sellers toward the newer stalls in Statehelm instead.
In a message posted to the game’s Discord, Heimburg acknowledged that some players aren’t happy with the new setup, but said the team wants real results before making “smarter changes.” According to the Discord post, he also suggested that players holding onto shops early might be hurting themselves later due to how the pricing ramps up over time.
One change does sound locked in, though: more places to sell. Heimburg said Elder Game plans to “break the experiment a bit” by adding a large new shopping area to the Red Wing Casino sometime next month. After that, the team plans to let the system run a while longer to see how it behaves long-term.
For most newer players, the stall fee debate probably won’t matter day-to-day unless you’re trying to browse a healthy market. But if you’re setting up shop, it’s a clear signal that the current pricing and stall availability are still in flux.
