Persist Online Closed Playtest Starts This Week, Sign-Ups Still Open
CipSoft is opening another closed playtest for Persist Online during the week of June 29, and sign-ups are still available through the game’s website. According to the official post, players only need to register with an email address for a chance to get in.
Persist Online is the zombie MMORPG from the studio behind Tibia, which has been running since 1997. There’s still no Early Access date, but CipSoft has continued testing while making larger changes based on player feedback.
One of the bigger recent changes is a progression overhaul. The team has been reworking how characters and gear advance, with crafting and upgrading at the Safehouse now meant to be faster and cheaper. The Safehouse interface itself is still expected to get more work later this year.
The open world has also been tuned to push back harder. Elite enemies can appear as mutated variants or roll elemental effects, including acid pools and fire damage. Daily quests are now available from NPC faction strongholds too, giving players a bit more direction between scavenging, fighting, and trying not to get eaten.
Players who don’t make it into the test can still follow the game through its Steam page or the official Discord.
