Pax Dei Update Moves to Unreal Engine 5.6 and Reworks NPC Aggro
Pax Dei’s latest update is now live on all servers, bringing the game up to Unreal Engine 5.6 after several weeks of testing on the Arcaria PTS shard. The patch also makes the promised NPC aggro changes aimed at improving dungeon runs, so enemies should no longer chase players through entire layouts quite so aggressively.
Mainframe says a lot of the work in this update is under the hood, including performance and stability improvements tied to the engine upgrade. The patch also adds support for AMD FSR 4 and Nvidia DLSS 4.5.
- NPC behavior and dungeon encounters have been adjusted, with aggro changes meant to stop overly long enemy pursuits.
- The Party UI has been improved.
- Mail and Redeeming Queue notifications have been added.
- Charcoal production yields have been doubled.
- More than 50 new decoration items and building pieces are now available.
The new building and decor options come with their own unlock paths, including new resources and progression requirements. Mainframe has more detail in the release notes on Discord.
It’s not the flashiest kind of update, but it does touch a few pain points players have been dealing with, especially in dungeons. The engine move also sets Pax Dei up for more technical work later, assuming the new build holds up well on live servers.
