Pantheon previews Dire Lord class overhaul ahead of spring combat update
Visionary Realms has shared another look at Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s upcoming class reworks, this time focusing on the Dire Lord. The changes are tied to the game’s broader Combat and Progression Update, which the studio says is due later this spring.
According to the official post, the Dire Lord is getting a few big mechanical changes. The class will be able to wear Light Plate armor, its Essence system is being removed in favor of a new Blood Debt mechanic, and mastery choices will now push players more clearly toward either defensive or offensive builds. Some unique abilities will also be unlocked through those mastery picks.
The Dire Lord has long been framed as a tank with a darker, more aggressive style, mixing melee pressure, self-healing, and supernatural effects. This refresh seems to keep that identity in place while changing how the class actually functions moment to moment.
This is the third class-focused preview Visionary Realms has released recently. Earlier posts covered the Warrior and Paladin, so the current round of reveals is clearly centered on tank classes.
There still isn’t a final release date for the update in this post, and the studio hasn’t shown the finished implementation yet. For now, players only have the outline of how the class is changing, but the main takeaway is pretty clear: Dire Lords are losing Essence, gaining Blood Debt, and getting a more defined split between offense and defense.
