Overwatch PC publishing in Korea is moving to Nexon later this year

Blizzard is handing Korean publishing and live service duties for Overwatch on PC to Nexon later this year. Blizzard says it will still lead development and global operations, while Nexon will handle publishing and live service support for Korean PC players.

According to the official post, the deal only applies to the PC version in Korea, and Steam is excluded. Blizzard says the change is meant to better support how Korean players use the game, especially around PC bangs, localized programs, and community support.

For players worried about losing progress, Blizzard says play history will carry over after the transition. More details on how that process works are planned for the next few months.

Blizzard also says Korean players can expect more Korea-focused content, expanded PC bang benefits, and more localized services. It didn’t get specific on what that content will look like yet, only that more information is coming later.

On the esports side, OWCS Korea will stay part of the global competitive ecosystem. Blizzard says there are no changes to the 2026 tournament plans that have already been announced.

For now, this is just about Overwatch PC in Korea. Blizzard says its other games in the region will continue to be published directly by Blizzard.
